Could not see it already posted so would like to tell you I phoned British Gas up today to check if my Click Energy 6 was still competative, and it appears its not bad considering its almost 2 years old!
I then told them that npower wanted my business, to which they replied "we'll give you £50 if you are still with us in 3 months and throw in a power calculator worth £35 for free".
Just thought id let you all know.

Why would you rely on your existing provider to tell you if your tariff is competitive-you're hardly going to get a negative answer!
Why not just use a comparison site?No free lunch, and no free laptop

Why not just use a comparison site?
I actually used uSwitch and a few others, and it made me realise they are very inaccurate. I selected my tarriff with uSwitch and it said by switching to npower I could save £200 per annum.
Upon investigating it, it was a load of rubbish. The figures they had for my tarriff was out by almost 0.5p. Doesnt sound like alot but when I did my own manual calculation over the past year based on npowers Web Saver 9 (which come up top) and my Click Energy 6 tarrif, I actually would have lost £39 per annum had I switched, not to mention the £50 loyalty bonus I just got.
So one has to ask... are the comparison sites working in our best interests or the providers?
