Daewoo American Fridge Freezers?

Has anyone got one? Are you pleased with it?

I need to get a black f/f that is no more than 90cms wide and it's limiting my choice. Found a lovely Samsung but but put off by the reviews on here and then I found it was 91 cns wide anyway!

I'm happy to spend around £1300 but the Daewoo is half that and reviews seem good.

Thanks

Hi we have an LG one and despite me moaning about it loads on here i LOVE it, had to be black so it was this, the samsung or the daewoo and ours imo deff looks the best and the Samsung ddint have great reviews..the daewoo just didn't look as nice..sorry of the one you like! The moaning was 90% due to the fact that we live in a town house and it was so so hard to get it delivered as some delivery men say yes and some no..one arrived and they wouldn't bring up etc, one scratched and one dented BUT rectified but again due to getting them in easily was very stressful! Not sure this is the same below as ours is glossy and looks fab but very similar to this one (is still instore though):

If you look at the currys site, have a look also at the Dixon site.

Everything i look for in Currys is at least 40£ cheaper at Dixons
and they are the same compnay.

I looked at an electrolux f/freezer tonight and the same model was
    £55 difference:eek:

    Good luck.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

  • We have the daewoo black american fridge freezer. (The one with the ice maker on it.) There's plenty of space and everything works as it should! Not had any real issues with it at all and have had it a year.

The only issue we ever had with it was that when you press for ice it's loud. We called the engineer out thinking it was broken and they told us we weren't holding the button down long enough to dispense the ice. :o So I assume all ice makers are loud!

The early Samsung models were a problem but they fixed that. Ours has been fine. They have dual temperature control of fridge and freezer which most of the rest at a similar price do not have and this was a key factor for us. Incidentally they are are 90.5cm wide.....at least ours is i just measured it.

My brother has the Daewoo and is very pleased with it. We nearly bought one ourselves based on his experience but the issue above swayed us to the Samsung in the end.
  • ThankS for your replies. Will go and have a look at the weekend. Thanks x

Dont forget Dixons,I think they only sell on line.

I have used them a couple of times, excellent customer service.
Free delivery. Couldnt fault them, and a follow up email to make sure i was happy with my purchase.

Ive got a silver Daewoo, had it for a year and a half and its been brilliant so far. The thing I like most is there's an alarm if you accidentally leave the fridge or freezer door open, which happens a lot with my kids, and this alerts you to close it! Very pleased, it looks nice and I've no complaints so far. It's not a plumbed in one if that helps. :)

Hi,that's not actually ours as ours is glossy and that's matt.. Comet had it BUT it was more expensive and they refused to deliver up our stairs (town house), this was the main issue of getting it as delivery men will not lift them. In the end due to all the issues we had with ours being delivered etc we got compensation and ended up paying about £400 for ours which was great considering it was origionally over £1k..not worth the hassle we went through though and ide have ather paid full price!

Dixons are fab though we got our dishwasher from them and really good service etc.

    Good luck x
