Help needed with skype head phones please

Hello, I will be having my first conversation using my newly purchased headphone from amazon in a few hours.
It came with 1 red and 1 black connector but nothing that colour is on the back of my PC.
I assume they plug into mic and speaker sockets, but the symbols are too small for me to see.
So which wire goes in which coloured socket/hole?
I have pink, green or blue to choose from in a row.

Red is probably the mic and goes in the pink socket, black is probably the earphones and goes in the green socket.

And to test whether it works you can call the "Skype Test Call". It will record what you're saying and plays it back after a few seconds.
