I'm afraid she can't. She can claim tax relief on any mileage (up to 40p per mile) but she can't claim the actual travel expenses though her tax.

That's what I meant to say!
  • as it is at the moment, she gets 20p a mile however the first 10miles of the day are deducted..

tho in all honesty if l were in her position l would have left the job ages ago.. long story short her pay slips or at least the few we have actually been sent (we have kept on and on at them to send out ones they missed sending us) dont always tally with our spreadsheet.. on three payslips more than 150 miles have been deducted from her mileage and on one or two the hours havent matched.. and her being the pushover just doesnt get around to speaking to them, l think she is so worried about loosing her job again.

still you have to take into account the significant stress of current events and the past few years of employment, in 5 years my parents have been taken for a ride, after being made redundant, worked full time for a part time wage, got sacked for looking for another job (not months after being flooded and loosing everything downstairs), got sacked for a burglary that we never committed, and now just about everything is coming down on us with debts which should have never existed due to PPI insurance turning us down and the council deciding to lay the boot in as well... and l havent even mentioned the medical problems (mum had half her thyroid removed, dad has ongoing treatment for diabetes and blood pressure and currently being investigated for a possible cardiac problem and is still awaiting information back from a physical the job centre requested as he applied for ESA)
