You can model the impact of non-dependents in your household by entering the information into the Entitled to (turn 2 us) website which is a benefits calculator.

Housing benefits etc would expect you to and will make deductions regardless of what you do.

He isn't claiming housing or CTB, use one of the online benefit checkers just to make sure, but I don't think it will affect your CTC/WTC claim

if the OPs wife works a minimum wage job with a partner who doesnt claim any benefits with a least 1 child i would have thought a HB entitlement may exist.
