Santander Current Account: £1k a month?

Quickish question.

I have the santander preferred in credit rate a/c and an alliance and leicester premier direct account. They were set up before santander merged the alliance and leicester accounts under their banner. Both pay 5% to £2.5k on £1k pm funding.

Now they have moved the a&l a/c under the santander banner, i can access both through my santander internet banking. What i want to know is can i just transfer £1k from an external c/a to say the a&l a/c, and then rather than transferring it back out to the external a/c before moving it into the santander a/c, just move it directly across to the santander PIRC a/c from the a&l a/c and hence meet the funding for both a/cs?

I ask as a&l/santander don't offer FP so i have to wait several days for my funds to return to my external a/c and i want my £1k float to work as hard as possible!

I have maxed my vantage and the £5 paying Halifax account. I've been thinking about the Santander one together with the home saver one, but have heard bad reports regardings its customer service. So, havent opened one yet. Any advice?

Why not Halifax as well, just have the same £1000 transfered around all you accounts at the start of every month.

Can you give a link of that 6% regsavers account in Santandetr?

I'll answer my own question. Phoned santander last night due to a query re my statement, which they resolved immeadiately (pretty decent CS if you ask me although there was an error in the first place!).

Anyway if you have two accounts now under the santander banner that require £1k pm funding, the £1k must come from outside of santander into each a/c to qualify for the interest. Transfering money between santander a/cs will not count.

Bit of a pain as payments out of santander take at least 3 working days, but can't knock 5% up to £2.5k

I have benn banking with them and happy with them. No issue at all, but good to hear from othem member experience

Could other members please confrim about this or probably the T&C whihc mention about thiis ?.
