Buying in Swansea - any places to avoid? Any Advice?

I'm hoping to move to Swansea or Swansea Valley area next year & would appreciate any advice/comments about the area. I worked there some time ago & know the Sketty/Uplands area well, but probably can't afford to buy there! I know the city centre well, but not too sure about other areas. Hoping to spend less than £140K for a 3 bed house, including removals/fees etc.
I don't have a car, so I'd need good public transport & the bus service has appeared very good on the times that I have visited before.
Anyone have any advice for me? Many thanks.

& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

If you can't afford Sketty/ Uplands look further afield - Dunvant maybe?
Years ago most areas to the west were fine. Been too long to pass comment on transport routes or prices.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
