Just wondering if i'm expected to tip the removal men. Never for a minute crossed my mind until someone on here mentioned it a while back, and that made me think the poster had done. Dont want to look stingey but I'm broke after shelling out for everything else!

It wouldn't really occur to me unless the service went above and beyond.0

I get the impression it is quite usual these days but I too am losing track of exactly when tipping is appropriate!!!
As I get older however, I tend to do it more. Can't be fun getting by on a low wage.Go round the green binbags. Turn right at the mouldy George Elliot, forward, forward, and turn left....at the dead badger0 -
*Get that box first lads, well get the kettle on!*
Might make them be extra gentle with your stuff and get a shift on with a brew in them.........or go slower while they relax with biscuits! :rotfl:0 -
A top tip ... for tipping ... I heard once was: If you're a good tipper, tip up front, before the job - then you'll ensure you get a good job done, rather than them doing half a good job wondering IF you'll be tipping.
Only works for good tippers though. £1 probably doesn't cut the same power.0 -

Always worth doing if you're in a busy pub/bar or whatever and wanting service later on - buy whoever serves you a drink with your first round. Or at a hotel, tip the guy who gets you the sunbed/towels or whatever. But I'd never tip removal men up front! If they do a rubbish job, you can't really ask for your tip back lol.
