Should i change my tyres?

Running 2003 Mondeo last night my front nearside was as flat as a pancake!
Inflated it to 35, checked this am and seemed to be holding, came to work and rechecked still around 35. Checked again at lunch and its still up and reading around the 35. Any ideas why it deflated?

Its running 205-55 R17, but oddly has 4 different tyres on it, 3 known brand and 1 unknown.

Just in case should I get 2 new fronts and then put the best other 2 on the back?

Sounds like they may be inflated to high.

Either way, might be "one of them things" providing they hold up no reason to change.

Slight aside, always have your "best" tyres fitted to the REAR of a vehicle like this.

Could be, I am often occasionally wrong :p

Either way, just keep an eye on it.

Dust cap being on does not provide evidence that it hasn't been tampered with. ;)

    I second this!

Although i'd be more suspicious of old folk, than of kids. When they get a bee in their bonnet about cars, they have a habit of taking the law into their own hands!

Any of the main tyre places will check the tyre for a puncture if you call in. Even though you say your manual says 35psi, it sounds high to me!

  • It doesn't sound that high for the fronts but I generally have the rear 2-3psi lower on my cars as the majority of the weight is over the front wheels.
