Credit file post IVA
Following completion of my IVA, I have requested all parties to update my file.
However, I have received this reply via Equifax and not sure if it is correct. The way I read it is that although it will read as settled, it will still show an historic default on my file until 2016 (6 years after settled date). I think this is incorrect and should drop off 6 years from date of IVA (Apr 2005)
Equifax reply:
Credit Agreement - Club 24 - Credit Agreement (I)
The company has investigated your query and have advised Equifax that they have been in touch with the Insolvency Practitioner who dealt with this case, and they confirm that the completion date for this is actually 03/06/2010. The satisfied date you gave is the start date of the IVA and not the completion. Your Credit File has been amended to show a satisfied date of 03/06/2010 in line with the completion certificate provided. A new credit report has been created for you to view this change.
We suggest that you contact the company directly if you need further information.

The default is the important date and all defaults should say the date your IVA started. This is the date the 6 years is worked from. MIne sahow satified after IVA was finished and IVA monies paid to creditors but all accounts show default of date IVA started.
Did you check default dates and get the creditors to correct any that where after your IVA start date ?TOTAL 44 weeks lose. 6st 9.5lb :T0 -

All appear to be ok, with exception of Northern Rock, which has noted they have sold onto 3rd party, and now looking to change settled date from the date they sold it on which was May 2005 to the completed date of June 2010. There is no date in the default box, but it shows a default balance.
I'm just worried this default balance will now sit on my file until 2016 and not drop off 6yrs after the default.0 -
Hi SSmith,
We're having a similar problem , so hope that some one can answer us both?
To cut a long story short, 3 years into the IVA, he had a letter from Citi thanking him for "taking out a credit card" and that he now owed £82 - even though he'd not applied for anything at all. When he contacted Citi, it seemed that they had converted or bought the remains of a Diners Card debt into a Citi credit card and were demanding payment. We thought we'd sorted this at the time, over the phone, and heard no more from them.
Now, the credit record is saying that the account was opened in August 2008 and defaulted in September 2008 (leaving a Status History of 8). The IVA started in August 2005 with Diners Card being included. However, this one will now remain on there until 2014. Surely they can't "create" a debt three years into an IVA?
Any suggestions please?
Thanks
