P45 Problem?

Hi,

I've been signing on for the past few weeks after being at Uni for the past few years, and have just found a new job, who wanted me to send them my P45. Whilst at Uni, I had a part time job, so I sent my new employer the P45 I received from my former employer, rather than the P45 I will receive from the job centre in the next week. Does this matter, or should I send them the P45 from the Job Centre as soon as I get it?

Thanks

They will need the most up to date one. So the one from the job centre. If you dont get it by the time you start, explain about the old one and you will need to fill in a P46 provided by your employer.

Good luck in your new job:j:j

  • Thanks a lot :) Well I start on Monday and have already sent them my P45 from a previous employer, only discovered I got a new P45 from the JC today, hence the panic! Theoretically, out of interest, what would happen if I just left things as they were, without providing them with a P46/new P45?

Tax, Tax and more Tax. 20% on your whole salary till you provided the documents (i think)
