No claims help

I have a six month gap in my no claims bonus, (I've 25ys driving accident free) I've recently changed insurers, now they are saying due to gap last year I can only have 2yrs no claims.

Is this correct, thanks.

Each insurer treats things differntly but this sounds a bit odd. Sounds like there has been a miss-translation somewhere - most insurers allow you to have a gab in cover of up to 2 years so maybe either they are confused or not explaining it clearly?

Thanks for quick reply, they have almost double original quote, which is why I was checking.

If that is their policy then just go elsewhere.
