Video editing software

Hi all,

Was just wondering if anyone knew of any free, or cheap but good video editing software. I've almost 2 years worth of video that i'd love to get edited up and onto discs but haven't got anything to do it with.

Thanks

Carolyn

  • VideoStudio Pro X3 is great, and only £80, good for HD video editing particularly I've been told.
If your video has lesser requirements, I'm sure you could get previous versions of this software (was "uLead" before bought by Corel), poss on fleabay/amazon or such, for a fair amount less.

Best of luck. Depends how cheap you view as "cheap", and what value your memories!! :D
    Friendly greeting!
  • Windows Movie Maker is free and is normally already installed in Windows. Have a look on your start menu in the programs folders.

    Alternatively, download it here:-

Windows Vista or Windows 7 - click here
    Windows XP - click here

    Regards

  • Microsoft movie maker is free and can be upgraded via website.
  • and there was me assuming they'd already had a look to see what was already installed on their computer!
is it a PC or a Mac? there's free stuff available on the mac too, just google it up.
    have fun!
    Friendly greeting!
  • The mac has imovie, the pc has windows media player - both free/included :)

here are some "recommended" freeware video editing programs:

    Avidemux - http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux

    Virtual Dub - https://www.virtualdub.org
The package is however not complete without the additional filters. A comprehensive collection of third party filters, 74 Filters for VirtualDub, is available from a French site. Just click on the "Download VD filters (1.72MB)" panel/button to download the complete set of filters (RAR pack). Once all the filters are installed, delete the "PCVideo Image Processor" filter, as the installation instructions are missing a step.

It's on special offer for £39.99 at Amazon at the moment. Quick if you want it though because it will be back to about £55 soon.
