I used to use http://www.micheldever.co.uk/ when I needed V rated they were the cheapest I could find and often a queue of high performance cars from all over the country.
For a single it might not be worth a special trip but Might get a price for local to try and match.0 -

If it's just a puncture, and it's on the main section of tread just get it repaired, £10ish in most places, might find a "back street" place that'll do it for £5.
Not a difficult job, and perfectly safe.

thanks for all your help. Yes it might be repairable I think it's a nail or screw. he says he's heard good reports about Hankook so might give them a try. thanks again.0
