Pennisetum setaceum rubrum from seed
Hi all
wondered if anyone has tried germinating/growing this fab tender grass from seed with any success? Any tips?
A friend has given me some seed off her plant (bought this year), but I cannot find any germinating info any where - any info I find appears to say it is difficult.
Any advice welcome!

I am eyeing up this very plant in the J Parkers wholesalers catalogue - priced at £13.50 for five plants (9cm pot) along with the P. alocuroides hameln one at £4 for five plants.
here's a link i found for you. I don't know whether it's reliable, but you can give it a go

Didn't buy P. alocuroides hameln from J Parkers as I was gonna, but happened to be at a v. good GC (gates, in oakham, leics) and found one for £7. the rubrum was £12 but found out it liked a boggy area, but my friend's died earlier this yr, altho' it had plenty of moisture.
btw, came away with 3 bargains from their clearance site. a dwarf jap. cherry tree for £2, a phoneix palm for £5 and an elderberry tree £1...!!! it's so-oooo good when you such bargains!!!!!0
