Take it easy Ames, like others said, it shocks you. Have you had some tea with sugar in it?

It was the bike's fault. He ran into the back of you hence in the eyes of the law he didn't leave enough stopping distance. That is the basic rule even if you brake violently for a squirrel or something.

Ames, having had a few accidents in my time......obviously never ever my fault ( people shouldnt park on double yellow lines, they are there for a reason, i.e, so that a 65ft truck can get round a Junction without ripping your bumpers off:D) and as long as their were no injuries to persons then there is no need to report to Police at all. just your Insurers.
You have done your bit by ringing them, the fact that they were busy is their problem.
Its not your fault in any way either as you were rear-ended.

Cheers Pepe and Butti. I know technically he was in the wrong, but it was a real shock seeing the bike under my car. I'm just glad it happened near a school, cos it meant that everyone around was going really slow.

Butti, I did have a very sweet tea (bleurgh, I don't usually have sugar in things). But according to sister it doesn't do anything for shock, it's just a myth (she's got up to date first aid certs).

    Wine works better..honestly!

I went up the back of someone in slow moving traffic.. Then a couple of weeks later someone threw a snowball at my windscreen. It freaked me out totally so do be prepared to be a little jumpy for a bit in the car for a while

Just had a look through the dwindling 'cellar'. Found a few bottles of the Shiraz we bought in the barrel back in 2005.
Supposed to be at its best in 2012 and worth about £60 a bottle now. Resist, resist, resist.
Could always bring out a bottle for Noahs christening in 2 weeks though.
