As from September the 24th We have been told that there will be no more Sainsburys free bus. This is a nationwide decision by Sainsburys.
It will effect us oldies in rural areas of Devon with few bus services and no direct bus to the supermarket a lot.
Can anybody else add to this thread with further details?

It seems to be one of the penalties of country living unless you have your own transport you are a slave to local bus companies . Its one of the things on my 'cons' list when weighing up the prospect of moving...I won't always be able to drive/afford a car.. or hope there is a Mr.T with free buses in the local area...
OP could you not band together with a couple of neighbours in similar circumstances and book a communal taxi once a week?#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Some other operator might step in, you never know.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I guess with online ordering, there is no longer as much take up for such a service

It's unfortunate that these services are being reduced or withdrawn. But sometimes I do wonder how long companies were willing to carry the can when I see some shopping buses running empty most of the time. Maybe they've suffered with footfall since most OAPs were offered free bus passes - so instead of waiting for the shopping bus, they hopped onto the more frequent regular bus for free? The man without a signature.0

I still have a pinched nerve (or something) from two days ago carting a rucksack of beans from my nearest decent sized Sainsburys. Poor people have to walk to and from supermarkets. Tough diddums.0
