Dla

I get DLA. My partner has mental health problems and have suggested to the partner to claim DLA.

Unsure if partner would get DLA, however will not know til appliocation is submitted.

Can DLA be claimed by each partner?

  • I thought you posted recently that you had split up?Anway, yes both can claim dla and if you both get middle or higher rate care you can claim carers allowance as well,or if you get income support you could claim sdp at the couples rate(depedning on who if anyone else lives with you)

They had but have got back together again. The other week the partner was supposed to be getting a job but I am not sure if it was definite (I know you can work and claim DLA).

We are indeed back and moves back in tomorrow ))) Partner never got the job.

My Partner was claiming JSA and will be tomorrow on Thursday closing this down. Partner just made a claim online for Carer's Allowance to take it from tomorrows date ie the 2nd. The fact the partner is on JSA still with this create confussion? I also intend to phone Income Support up tomorrow to inform them, therefore fill in the forms to have partner placed on to my claim.

Will this effect the usual way IS is payed? Hate the thought of having to go through hell for a Crisis loan!
