Ryanair Baggage price

Looking to book a flight with Ryanair for next Feb and thought we would book one case and take two cabin bags.
We thought the price of checking a bag was £30 return, but it keeps coming up with £40!
Its not in half term week so not that - but it seems whatever date I put in it is still £40! thought it was only peak weeks it was more expensive - and has anyone had experience of Priority boarding? is it worth buying it? We fly from Bristol to Lanzarote (hopefully)!!

I can help with the baggage price, Ryanair have decided to keep the price of £40 permanent for travel to the canaries.
From the ryanair news section -Ryanair, the world’s favourite airline, today (30th July) confirmed that its optional checked-in bag fees will return to €15 (per bag) and €25 (for heavy bags) for travel from 1st Sept onwards on all routes except international routes to/from the Canary Islands, which will remain at €20 (per bag) and €30 (heavy bag) to encourage passengers to travel light.

Hi,
We flew for the first time with our children a couple of weeks ago from Bristol to Valencia we got priority booking as we wanted to sit together and it worked well for us. Our flights were full and we kept an eye on the departure board so were near the front of the queue.
I think if it had just been my husband and I then we wouldn't have bothered with it but it was definatley worth it to be sure we could all sit together.
Re luggage, can't comment as we only took hand luggage, managed to get some cheap small suitcases that were the right size and so didn't take any hold luggage.

Priority boarding is not much help if they bus you to the plane. You are first onto the bus and just part of the scrum when you get off.0

Flying from Birmingham in July, we paid for Priority Boarding, and it worked well. Loaded onto the airport bus first, then they "taped off" this section and let us onto the flight first.Normal people worry me.0
