Hard Drive Probs

My hard drive is on the blink
its a 20gb HD running on XP
I managed to salvage a 40GB HD from another computer and set it up successfully as a slave inorder to run Paragon Drive Copy
I know it may not come highly recommended but I've used Paragon DC to clone a HD before and it seems to be the easiest way to set up an exact copy of a HD and less hassle than doing a complete reinstall .
I decided to format the 40gb Slave drive first so that it would be clean
I set it as NTFS the same as my ond drive and let it run
I dont know what has happened but now it comes up as an invalid drive in Paragon and when I click on properties for that drive it shows as being 100% full.
I'm getting desperate because my current C drive has failed already on two occasions and could possibly pack up any moment
Any help would be gratefully appreciated

How about setrting up your faulty HD as a slave in a working PC and copying your data off?
Then get a new HD, install Windows and your software and copy your data back on.
In the future, backup your data regularly in case you have another HD failure.0 -

Thanks but thats eaiser said than done. I dont have anotherr working computer with XP on it
I have an external 250GB hard drive for backup and I was using paragon DC to make exact copy regularly.
I now need to copy to the 40gb disc from either the existing 20GB C drive or from the external drive
I cant boot from the external drive so I really need to get everything onto the slave asap
A new format wont work on the slave for some reason
Is still shows as being 100% full
What I need is to get it freed up and properly formatted but I cant think howIWasLookingBackToSeeIfSheWasLookinBackToSeeIfIWasLookinBackAtHer.....0 -
Ah I see. I'm not familiar with Paragon I'm afraid.
Perhaps someone else can advise you better?0
