Welcome Finance - update - really upset

I phoned Welcome back this afternoon, only to be told that the woman I spoke to yesterday (she told me my case had been upheld for mis-sold PPI) GAVE ME A LOAD OF BULL! They first off all told me there was no-one by the name that I gave to them, so hey are going to do a telephony check as their telephone calls are recorded and a manager is going to call me back tomorrow. They told me my case hasn't even been looked at yet! I am appalled by the way I have been treated especially after yesterday - the elation of being told my case had been upheld, calculations would be done and a letter of acceptance was being sent out to me. I am disgusted with this company and seriously going to take this further to the FOS and my own solicitor

I am so upset by this, sorry to moan

Just a symptom of the mind games these institutions play. They are probably hoping you'll give up.

    Stick with it.

Keep a record of all communications with Welcome - names, dates, telephone numbers, the whole nine yards.

You DO NOT need a solicitor for this - just determination to see it through. A solictor can do no more than you can do for yourself with a little help from your friends on MSE. A solicitor can, however, charge a bundle for his/her time.

    We're behind you in this.

Good luck and keep us posted.

You cant take legal action and use the FOS at the same time. If you do, the FOS will refuse to look at the case.

Whilst what has happened is most strange, there is really very little you can do about it. The written information is key here. Even if they find a member of staff that did make the call, they can discipline that person but it wont help you.

they may try to wriggle out of it by saying no phone call took place,

make a note of the number you called, if it was via a mobile note the time and duration and print off a copy of the confirmation from your bill,
if it was a land line, ask your providor for a full itemised statement covering the period in question, this will give the same information.

you should then be able to prove to the FOS that this telphone call took place if they deny it happening.

    never trust a bank again, i won't/don't
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free

I didn't have any phonecalls from them - only letters, firstly to say they'd received my claim, then to say sorry for the delay, and finally to make me an offer of compensation.

Sorry you were messed about, I would investigate if I were you.

Good news :j . When you get the numbers, post on here for a check to see if they are reasonable or rip-off. ;)

    Edit
Hope you got the managers name.
