Hi all
Can anyone recommend a decent program to organize my bookmarks? I have hundreds, too many to scroll through, both on my laptop, and several other PC's. Also I have loads of bookmarks from years ago saved to CD prior to reinstalling my PC's. It is a huge job to combine and organise them all. Any programs that will help with this are needed - must be free though as I'm skint!!! Thank you MS'ers

Try LinkStash, 30 day free trial.
Also, AM-DeadLink is excellent for scanning your bookmarks and finding incorrect or out of date URLs.0 -
I only have around 30 most often used favourites now.
The rest I keep on del.icio.us. (my shared page)
You can add new ones with a simple bookmarklet, and then finding them is easy because you can simply search them - both for content of the comment box and for tags you've labeled them with.
If you want to give it a shot they have an import page where they can upload all your favourites. They'll automatically be made private at first and you have the option of applying popular tags to them (the tags that other users have given that particular bookmark in the past) so they'll effectively be organized automatically.0 -

Another vote for http://del.icio.us I also use the del.icio.us extension for Firefox to make browsing/adding to my list easy.
Another great firefox extension is foxmarks which synchronises a common set of bookmarks between multiple PCs.

why not just store them on a web page on the internet somewhere.NURSE: "Shouldn't it be sterilized, doctor?"

I place similar favourites in folders, ie finance, shopping, tools etc. It takes up much less space and they display alphabetically, makes different URLs easier to find.
Every month or so I export to a USB storage device as a back up.
Good luck0 -
Ooh thanks for all these replies! I'm off to have a look at some of your suggestions. Cheers!0

That's exactly what http://del.icio.us is - a web page on the Internet somewhere.DrBenway wrote:why not just store them on a web page on the internet somewhere.

Which browser are you using, Firefox has many extensions for organising bookmarks and you don't have to spend a penny to use them!553780080

How about Google Notebook. Not only can it store your favourites, but it can store interesting bits of webpages too, you highlight the parts you want to note, right mouse click and note it. You can then edit it to suit your needs.
It needs you to install a small plugin to get the best from it, but it works from anywhere and really lets you organise your favourites and everything else you want to note on the net.
I cant recommend it enough its superb!
