Credit Card Calls from Abroad

A few weeks ago I was in Costa Rica and needed to call my travel insurance company. The hotel had a 'payphone' which you paid for by credit card. I made four calls:
- the first was an automated message to say call again between 9-5
- the next two were the wrong numbers, lasted less than a minute
- the fourth one was the right number but lasted less than 3 minutes
I've just checked my credit card bill and I'll been charged over 33 pounds each! That's over 130 quid for a brief call.
How can I dispute this? The connection charge must be over 30 pounds but there was no information about that. Can I dispute it via my credit card company?
Thanks!

I don't think there is much you can do here....
Any action you could take would be against the hotel, and you would need to take them to court in costa rica. I have no idea of consumer law there, but I shouldn't imagine you can do much about it. They may be charging an exorbitant price for these calls, but even in the UK there is nothing wrong with an item/service being expensive, as long as the prices are listed.
It could well be that prices were listed in some sort of check in document...0 -
Q Did you make the calls?
If answer Yes, you should have checked the costs before dialing.0
