Curtain Poles? Holes??

Quite a dull subject really, but seeking some guidance please!

We are moving (Yay, finally!) on Friday and have to take our curtain poles as the house we are moving to are taking theirs etc etc...

Anyway...should I fill in the holls with polyfiller or leave them as is for the our buyer to use for their curtain poles? *Yawn*

  • I'd fill them. Millions wouldn't

Did you state on your SPIF that you would be taking the poles with you?

If not then, strictly speaking, they should be left in place, regardless of what the vendors of the property you are buying are doing.

Why not just leave the holes? I assume you did use rawplugs. They might just be the in the right place for the people that move into yours.

Or they might not be. The usual procedure is if you take down anything curtain poles, pictures, mirrors etc that you "make good" ie fill and touch up the paint. Granted a lot of people don't bother and its hardly something to split hairs over.
  • I agree with B&T. Though people don't. It's good karma and helpful to maintain a good relationship with the buyer as they will be receiving misdirected post and maybe even phone calls for you for a while and you want to make sure they're passed on. I actually know someone who left an antique Rolex watch under the bed and it was forwarded onto them by the buyer!

Of all the things that get attached to a wall I would have thought that curtain poles would be the most likely to need identical attachment points. It's not as if you can put them on a totally different part of the wall. So in that instance it's not necessarily a point of "not bothering" but more perhaps a case of trying to be potentially useful.
