Does anyone know how NTL work out non-geographic call charges?
In there online tariff guide there is a whole raft of them listed like this:-
ntl band Description Daytime Evening Weekend
PG14 Premium Rate Service 8.00 8.00 8.00
PG15 Premium Rate Service 9.00 9.00 9.00
PG16 Special Services 2.00 1.00 1.00
.
.
PG21 New Voice Services 4.89 2.00 1.18
At the bottom of the page it states "See ntl non-geographic definitions for number range relevant to ntl band and description.", but I can't find this anywhere.
Additionally, there is a connection fee of 6p.
What I am really trying to discover is whether 0844 xxxx xx xx (0844calls.co.uk), 0808 1 703 703 (18185 to you BTer's), and 0808 1 708 708 (1899) are subject to a charge from NTL, as I don't see any kind of freephone numbers on their list.
Thanks.

All 0800 and 0808 numbers are freephone from NTL lines.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

0844 calls on NTL/Telewest are charged at the same rate as BT plus the 6p connection charge.0
