Has the extra 15 pound on LHA stopped or not?

I was under the impression it had but I've just had my claim for LHA come through and we've been told we'll be getting an extra 15 a week.

I just want to make sure since I don't want an overpayment. It's the form they send you etc so it must have been computer generated.

What if I find a property with a rent that is less than the LHA I will receive? - For the time being if you find somewhere cheaper than the local housing allowance, we will pay you a maximum of your rent plus £15 extra. This extra money is will stop being available from April 2010 for new claims and from anniversary dates after April 2010 for existing claims.

  • April 2010 or 2011 ?
  • Can't post link as I am a newby but it does say April 2011 on DWP website!
  • It's expected to be April 2011. £15 top-up is still allowed - even for new claims.

    Initally it was April 2010

In the 2009 Pre-Budget Report the Government announced that implementation of the removal of the £15 excess would be delayed until 2011:
