Xbox 360 Broke my game

Bought a 360 on monday, was just playin on it this afternoon, the gme carshed/stopped working. So the girlfriend went to get the game out and it started to make a hell of a noise and now the disk has a white mark all around the edge and wont work, what do i do, has anyone else heard of this??

Have heard the odd report of the 360 scratching discs but don't know how widespread the problem is

Is the white ring around the edge just not the end of the burn on the disc as most of my 360 games are not full burn DVD's and you can see a ring around the edge where the burn has finished

No its definitly a mark that wasnt there before, the disc is also jagged around the sides not smooth like it should be. When inserted into the console it says insert into a xbox 360 console, whats that about??

If you ejected the disc with the XBOX on and the XBOX in a vertical position, thats a no no and i am sure it says so in the manual.

Maybe try a DVD cleaning cloth or something?

Was thinking that gotta try somethin as its the only game she likes and i have just bought it as well.

If the disk is broken will i be able to exchange with the 'manufacturer'? As i think my friend once broke a game and he could send the original back plus £10 and got a new one.

the xbox will "norally" only scratch disks if the xbox is moved from vertitacl to horizontal witha game inside, i think to get it replaced you have to contact micrososft and they only replace it with another xbox game
