Hi,
Could anyone advise me on where I stand with this one? During 2 weeks of employment at the beginning of August I worked the following;
Mon - Tue (both full days)
Wed (Off ill)
Thu (returned to work for 3.5 hours, but then symptoms returned so went home)
Fri (Off ill)
Then on the next week, due to advice from GP, I was off sick for the whole week.
They have paid me just 2 days SSP. Is this correct? When I returned to work I did sign a form saying i was well enough to work but then after that the problems came back.
Thanks in advance,
Tom.

Hi Tom,
I have just been off sick as well as a temp in a placement. You get paid after 3 days off sick so you would only be entitled to 2 days in this case unless you are permanet in your workplace.
SSP is your are temping is only paid if you take 3 full days off sick then you get paid after the 3rd days is over so if you are off a week you will get paid for 2 days if you are off for 2 weeks you are paid for 7 days and so on.
as you were off for 1 day then back in the off for 1 days then off for a week you would be paid for the whole time off just the last 2 days of the week.
Sorry if I have repeated myself pm if you need more info:rotfl:***wishes people would give advice required on these boards rather than just being mean to everyone ****0 -

but wouldn't the first Friday I had off count as a full day and therefore i would be entitled to 3 days? And thanks by the way

Depends on when you doctor signed your sick note from. did they sign you off sick from the thursday lunch time, friday or the monday?***wishes people would give advice required on these boards rather than just being mean to everyone ****0 -

They didn't sign me off at all. They told me to take as long as i needed and if my employer needs any information then they could be contacted. I went to my GP on the wednesday and then the monday.
If you are temping at the placement then you wouldn't be entitled to sick pay unless a sick note is presented or if htey contacted the GP then it depends on the date the GP said he saw you if he said he saw you on the monday and then no Friday would count.
If you are permanet at this job where you have been off sick its best to contact the payroll team.
I was off work from a Thursday to 2 weeks later and as I didn't get my doctors note signed until the monday I was only given sick pay from the following wednesday due to the 3 day started from my sick note.
It also depends on your company sick policy as well if you are temping who are you temping with? you can normally find the sickness policy on the internet if you are permanent you can normally find it on your companies HR site but sometimes best to call companies own HR *
