Well hello everyone
I'm back on the DFW bandwagon - 1st September always feels like a good start for me (have only been AWOL from this thread since Friday…but feels like a while ago!)
And if I'm not mistaken I joined MSE a year ago and this was the first thread I posted on
Thanks guys!! I heart the small things!
LOTTEBEAR - nice one on the last loan payment! Woo hoo!! :T
Today's list:
- Brekkie at home
- Free cuppa at work
- Going for a 'sandwich of the day' whatever it may be - only £1.30, which I know is a discrace but still cheaper than my usual sarnie when I don't bring lunch
- Put 42p in the coin jar, even though I took £3 out last week
- Quick wash on 30
- Using vouchers
- Deciding whether to sell a bottle of perfume I got for free and still unopened…
- Looked out train tickets for the weekend so I'm prepared and don't get stung by getting on the wrong train…saw that happen last week  imagine!
- Checked banking!
- Started 100 day challenge :T
- Watched my £400 payment clear :T
Tonight I sort the flat (the story of my life!) and then chillax
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Hello all!
Just finished my first day at the new job - all went ok but no kids today (INSET day) - waiting for the riot tomorrow!
Had a letter from Lloyds about PPI which I think says they'll pay it all plus interest back:j - will post the details on the PPI boards to see what the experts say but it looks good at first glance to me.
Other DFW things (not many today)...- Walked dog this morning and just taken him to the park for free exercise for the both of us
- Tea from stores (OH playing football so just for me)
- Check banks
- Do surveys
- Check ebay
- Do some oragnising of school stuff tonight
- Had a NSD (by accident!)
Redsam - good luck with the supply/job hunting - I know how you feel xxxJanuary grocery spending - £82.73/ £1200 -
A very clever and kind person on the PPI board (Robbedofmymoney) has worked it out for me and they're going to give me approx £2900 back - I nearly died of shock!:j:T
Don't know if it'll be a cheque or they'll pay it off the balance of the other loan I have with them but either way I don't care!
I have 2 other PPI things to investigate too so I'm now inspired! (Won't be anywhere near as much as this one but you never know!)January grocery spending - £82.73/ £1200 -
wow - brilliant, so I am envious of you rachelmk.
Thank you for the good luck message, with my CV and experience I know i will get interviews its hoping the permament jobs pop up. I left my permanent long term job 2 years ago (several reasons that i wont go into now) and have been lucky that walked into 2 contracts, the last one being an Assistant Head - the interviews i had for sept start i was beaten to the job by better candidates - the right job will come along and fingers crossed i get enough supply to pay the bills and mortgage!
done most things on my list and some extras too.

Hello :j
Good luck with the job search Redsam, I am sure you will find something soon. I used to be a teacher, and still miss it a bit...
Well done on the PPI Rachel, what a complete rip off that was!
Today for me:
Checked online banking and moved money around
HC on line - OH's overalls covered indiesel and a doormat that one of the dogs had peed on -bleurgh!!
Watered plants
Went to see DD1 and 2 little GDs, as I was on leave from work again today :T
Took DD1 some posh Italian terracotta cooking/ serving dishes that I bought on sale a few years ago, and never use (I used each one once). She was really pleased as she does much more posh cooking /entertaining than I do! I just kept the smallest one, as I do sometimes use that.
LSD, just the fee for the toll bridge on the way to DD1's house
DD2 texted and asked if she and her OH could have tea with us - I said yes, if you cook it as I am out :rotfl:so she did, and I had some as well
Back to work tomorrow
