Student loan repayment when living overseas!

I graduated from University in the UK last year and have a substantial student loan. I have heard rumours that if you are out of the country for five years you will not pay back the loan is this true?. Thanks for your help.

No it's not true. You have to inform the SLC if you leave the country for more than 3 months. For information see repayment from Overseas0
