Hi

How long should a bank transfer from HSBC to Halifax take? The person transferring the funds to my Halifax account says 2 hours.

But the last time I did a bank transfer it taken around 3-4 days...Mind you that was in 2003 or so.

2hrs is what FP enabled providers say.

However, in practice it'll be there in seconds (for sub £10K transfers from HSBC to Halifax anyway).

The new (to you) Faster Payments service will be explained on your Halifax website. Maybe take a look?
