my son has allergys and the dietician at southampton hospital reccomends he eats only white bread because it contains alot more calcium.
So we make bread with organic white flour that isnt bleached.Kindness costs nothing0 -
What does an allergy have to do with calcium?0

Wholemeal is better than brown or white. But it must state wholemeal, not brown, granary etc.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

Is granary bread not healthy ? I have thw whole family on that as opposed to white bread or even wholemeal. I also use Burgen - soya and linseed bread ( came accross it one day in the supermarket and they all love it).we are all great bread eaters in our house.the kids couldn't eat white bread now at all...so which is healthiest ????????0 -
cannot live by bread alone, just thought it sounded appropriate
But with beans it makes a perfect diet, cheap and thrifty ,never need to go hungry, and with a glass of orange juice as cheap as chips and as healthier than a packet of crisps ,5lts a year of oil if you eat one bag a day.Look for the salt content in your bread ,tesco have low salt wholemeal for 48p a loafTo be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -

Granary is delicious, and to be honest, I'm of the opinion that c hildren should be encouraged good bread, whatever the colour.
However, wholemeal is the only bread guaranteed to be made with wholegrain. I believe, coudl be wrong, depends where I read it, that granary may be white bread with bits in an dlightly coloured.
Anyhoo, as I say, bread's good,if children are hungry before dinner, a slice of bread and butter goes down a treat.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
