  • Ask your Local Authority!

The way I see it, if you had moved into temp accommodation I would have expected the LA to have either paid for your moving expenses or made a contribution towards them but as you have insisted on a permanent move then you should bear the full cost.
  • Why do you waqnt to move out of your current home? You could be taking a big risk of being offered a property that you don't like!

Find out how long the work is estimated to take.

It is generally far LESS disruptive to the kids to "camp out" in another home for a few weeks than to move permanantly, which could mean new schools, having to make new friends etc.

My parents had friends of theirs stay for about a month with their 2 kids, when waiting for their new house to be ready, the kids loved it.

Think very carefully - frying pan into fire springs to mind.
Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%
