First time doing this so would like some tips. Basically I've got a couple of varieties of chili and sweet pepper seeds drying out on plates on the window sil.
So once they are dry what do I do with them so I will be ready for next year.
Do I store them in jars or paper envelopes?
What information do I put on the label? Would something like this be ok?:
Seed Type: Pepper
Variety: Sweet Marconi Red
Date stored: 01/09/10

Paper envelopes inside a tupperware-style container in the fridge.0

Once mine are dried they get wrapped in loo roll or kitchen towel, bunged into an envelope courtesy of junk mail and stored in a dark drawer on the opposite side of the room to the radiator.
PS. Make sure they are totally dry or they could go mouldy.
PPS. Label them!0 -
It would help if they were kept really dry. A screw-top jar with a silica gel sachet is ideal.0

I hope you have managed to stop the chilli & sweet peppers cross pollinating or you may be in for a nasty suprise next year
If you have not then I suggest you look around for cheap seeds just to be sureWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
re cross pollination: I bought some yellow wax chilli seeds from ebay and they have produced a mish mash of chilli/peppers.. Edible but not what I wanted0

I dry mine on flat seed trays in the sun and then put in brown envelopes (that came in post) and fold several times so they dont come on done I also seal the bottom with brown parcel tape
I then store in a large show box in garage0
