Indorex vs RIP Fleas?

Hi, can anyone tell me if one of these is more effective than the other?

Many thanks

  • No idea but hard floors (instead of carpets & rugs) means less places for them to hide when the cats are `protected' with flea drops!

Thanks for replying. I've had/am having a terrible job with fleas just now...I've always used Advocate as one of my cats had a terrible reaction to one flea treatment and it's what she's successfully been treated with since, so I just use this for everyone and collect it all from the vets at once.

I use it regularly but was a little overdue for this last lot, and took in two kittens that were loused with them...to cut a long story short all cats/kittens/dogs have been treated and I'm finding fleas in the house. I'm using a petshop bought household spray as my cars dead and I haven't been able to get out to get anything else, this is killing the fleas but obviously the lifecycle still needs breaking. I've been hoovering daily, emptying the cylinder and washing it out, washed pet bedding etc but am still finding them..I was hoping that I'd caught it in time and this would solve it, but alas no...

I have laminate all throughout the downstairs, it's just really the sofas etc, which have been hoovered everyday since I realised that the cats had 'lodgers' and the bedroom carpets as my DH is terrible at leaving the stairs door open.

I was reading about both sprays and they both do the same thing, break the cycle, both offer the similar advice, hoover X amount of days after treating to encoourage eggs to hatch and come into contact with it, but seem to have different active ingredients, which is what made me question if one was more effective than the other..

Phew...so much for cutting a long story short lol

  • I've never used RIP fleas so can't compare but have always used Indorex in the past and can recommend it. Even though I don't have a flea 'issue' I make sure I spray every 12 months without fail as I've been where you are in the past and it's not nice!

You can buy online much cheaper than from the vets. I use www.vetuk.co.uk but you need to spend over £15 for free delivery so worth adding Drontal or some other bits to bump it up.

Is it me or do flea sprays seem to be getting cheaper! I'm sure they were £12-13 a few years ago, £10ish last year and now £8.64 at VetUK!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I agree, they do seem cheaper than previous years.

I had a look at the link, wow, really good prices, I shall keep that for future reference. I've had to sort a lift to the vets as my cat's there this evening for a check up following two ops in the past 5 weeks, bless her (I thought it was friday but that was last week-she's been so much the last weeks I'm getting my days mixed up!) so I'm going to see what they've got and providing it's not hugely expensive grab some from there. Not very MSE of me, but the convenience of not being bitten weighs it up for me-don't they get everywhere!
