Hi everyone,
spoke to National Debt Line and got some info from them, i then contacted IVA.COM and spoke to sue from there, she setup a call with Lifeboat Debt who are going to deal with my IVA, just sorting out the paperwork and i need to submit a house valuation, whats the best way of obtaining a valuation without incurring any charges from estate agents????
Im sure ill have more questions as time goes by but the light at the end of the tunnel is atleast now visable !!!!

We asked an estate agent to give us a market appraisal as we were 'looking at our options'.
They did a valuation, and once we had it we politely told them that under the current financial circumstances we had decided not to take it any further at this stage.
Not strictly speaking honest, but ...0 -
cheers will give that a go...

I would not tell them, you may find they decide not to let you open one.0 -
Until you are actually in an IVA, if you get a question " Are you in an IVA?" the answer (as I have been told) is no, but you will still be subject tocredit checks and be offered a basic bank account, but make sure that your new account is not connected to any of your creditors.
Use Zoopla to get a value of your property if it has one or get an average from property sold in your road0 -
Bank sorted.....
Zoopla puts me in negative equity and some £35K cheaper than others forsale in my road...Not a bad thing with the IVA but they have asked for written proof of house price.
going to try local estate agents tomorrow...0 -
Your IP should do all this and provide your creditors with written evidence.0

I had an account with Smile and had to change it and the Coop who own Smile told me to open a Cashminder Account which gives you a paying in book dd facilities to pay bills and a debit visa card that is an electron in disguis. Have just done 1st year of my IVA and the bank account is cool... Lot easier than having 2 or 3 and zillions of credit cards! Good Luck:A Want2Bdebtfree

Sounds like you're getting on top of it, well done. Its amazing how inventive one becomes regarding elec repairs when trying to save some cash !!
Regarding the house valuation the IP should do this (they did mine) although it doesn't hurt to have some other valuations. My IP then took 15% off the valuation to allow for a 'quick sale'. Good luck and do post any questions on here.0
