after my dell xps melting , i bought a dynamode hdd caddy put in dell hard drive linked up to another laptop -which all worked fine .
was able to get at info required at the time.
switched off laptop after unsucessfully trying to "safely remove hardware". this morning the laptop does not boot up , but instead goes directly into the windows boot manager menu asking me to insert installation disc - which i do not have as i borrowed the other laptop.
can someone please explain where i've gone wrong , as i've now got 2 laptops not working . today i've bought a new one for myself but still need to connect caddy again tomorrow and i'm terrified that it'll be 3 laptops in 3 days !
help.
"meant to add that both the xps & other laptop are both running Vista"
