Windfall to invest

Hi - New to this site.

I have an financial advisor but i am curious to find out what feedback
anybody may have.
I have come into an inheritance which I expect to be around £2million.
I am about 10 years off official UK retirement age and have little or no debt. I am interested to know if the sum is invested wisely what return could I expect gross and nett.
I am also learning about compound interest which is important as regards inflation eroding the capital sum.

I think most expect around 7-9% return before admin costs (so AMC and fees). This is depending on the area you invest in and obviously noone has a crystal ball....

It will also depend whether you take income or not.

Have you thought about retiring early?

if you are concerned about preserving the value of the windfall in real terms then think about 1 or 2% return
