Are you 'in love' with your home?

For sure you can fall in love with a house! I can't believe anyone (male or female) has not at some time been to or seen a house they wished they lived in.
At the same time it's very hard to find the absolute PERFECT house, the Sultan of Brunei (hope I've spelt that right) had HIS house in Regents Park, London made smaller coz he thought it was too big!
There's hundreds of lovely places around and it's the unique ones which we tend to fall in love with mostly, providing they tick most of the boxes. I can't think of anyone I know whose been able to tick every single box when buying. There's always a compromise somewhere.
Some places have the WOW factor though. For sure. And they just feel so nice when you step inside.0 -
I love my house probably because it is unique, however we have been given the opportunity to buy our dream house so we have put our home on the market.
At the moment we have no had any viewers so although I love my house I am hoping someone else falls in love with it soon. I did not expect it to sell quickly as it is not in the best area, although we have brilliant neighbours and most people have lived here for at least 20 years.0 -

Yes, we love this house - our forever home!
It's a big, 200 year old rambling s0d of a place and we first viewed it in a January sleet storm and had to use torches as there was no electricity.
It is bigger than we need, more expensive to renovate than we thought, and is an ongoing labour of love; nearly finished now six years later.
On our second viewing the sun came out and the views alone made you feel you were at the ends of the earth - I adore the place and curse it in equal measure!

Totally in love with my house. Tried to buy house1, fell through close to exchange. Saw this one on paper, loved it from the moment I saw the details, but couldn't get a viewing and found somewhere else. House2 fell through also, rushed back to EA to find this one still on market and available for viewing. Loved it even more on first viewing - despite need for full renovation it jus spoke to me in a way that is quite difficult to describe. We've been in 3 months, and it is taking so much longer to renovate and cost so much more than we thought, but I don't care! OH thinks it is an ideal opportunity to renovate, add value and make some money, don't have to heart to tell him he'll be carrying me out in a box. He is coming to love it more, so hopefully that won't happen. This is the only house I've ever loved and I didn't understand people who said they loved their house until we bought this one.

my house could burn down whilst i am at work and it wouldnt bother me. it would sort out the damp issues.
when we bought the house i think we fell in love with the accessories. when they moved out and left the damp behind, i can safely say bomb the thing.0 -
I'm in love with my house - its nothing special but just has everything we want/need. Right area, end of a cul de sac, corner plot so big garden even with extension, lovely kitchen/diner/family room and most important great neighbours! Have had bits of work done and some still left to do but that just makes it our own. If we suddenly became richer we would spend the money paying off the mortgage and doing the stuff this house needs rather than moving. It has the right 'feel' to it - can't really explain what it is. I feel happy to stay here on my own with the kids when DH has to go away for work which means a lot!0

I am still in love with our old flat. We are renting now, and though it's a lovely house, I miss having my own little nest. My old place is not far away and I've been known to drive past and look up longingly at the windows.0
