critical illness insurance

I have discovered I am paying £15 per month for a .cii policy from Aviva it started in Oct 2001 when I moved house and got a new mortgage. Since then I have remortgaged 3 times and didnt realise I was paying this policy.Has anyone any are advice about these policies ie are they worth keeping or should I cancel?

They are very good if you have a claimable event. They are a waste of money if you dont. Basically, the exact same principle as all insurance.
Statistically, its around 1 in 5 people will suffer a claimable event before retirement. So, it is one of the better insurance policies in terms of likelihood of payout.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
