malwarebytes anti malware problem

I hope someone can help me. When i press check for updates it does not work. Its on dateabase version 4451. What do i need to do. Thanks.

    Latest Malwarebytes database version is 4513, just updated so servers working.

    You have a virus which is preventing Malwarebytes updating, follow instructions in your thread.

    Only downloaded two wks ago so it was the first time i checked for updates but updates is still not working. Should i uninstall and start again.

    Have you scanned with it before and did it find any problems?

    That's not the case. She has an old version and simply hasn't bothered to follow the instructions given.

    When I had Microsoft XP, I had to use an "Administrator" account to update it.

    It would not update from a "Limited" user account.

    No, she was using an old version and just tried to update that.

    I had a problem with updating an old version of Malwarebytes on a rarely-used laptop. It wouldn't.

    So I just installed the latest version on top of the old version, and after that it updated fine!
