No but the law of averages says the more you enter, you are more likely to win something.

I enter loads and win a few small prizes but haven't got any huge ones yet.

Ive been entering since Dec last year and only have two wins despite entering about 300+ a month. Still you have to be in it to win it

Hi Moneysaver, I belive I might be one of thoose people you are talking about!
I am up to 31 small prizes so far this year. Still waiting my turn for the big one though! A small car would be very welcome!
As for tips- well- I am quite dedicated-I subscribe to one of the many competition mags, belong to a postal penpal group and look on the web sites. Competitions are plentyfull if you know how to find them. Just thinking- I must do 4-5 hundred a month and win 2-3 small prizes from that. Postcard. PPE'S, Leaflets and on this site. You need to keep entering along with the thousands of other hopefulls-one day the postman will knock at your door!

postal penpals are groups of about 4 people who join together by post. An envolope goes around the members and everyone adds their EF's for the group, writes a short letter and adds their latest win to the winners page. The envolope is then posted on to the next person on the list who enters the new comps, takes out any out of date ones and adds new ones found to the pack. So if you find a EF in the shops you need to pick up 3 for the group.
To start you need to ask 3 comping mad people to join your group.
With 4 people in the group you each have the pack for 1 week.
    Best Wishes...

Do you find though that you are spending more on stamps than the comp prizes are worth?

Good morning Black Saturn, I buy 2nd class stamps in packs of 100 and usualy get through 1 or may be 1 and a half a month. 100 stamps are £23.00 so I must spend about £150.00 on stamps in a year. I have now won 35 prizes this year, The most expencive one being the prize of a Sony Ericson Phone with pre loaded audio book. The phone was about £200.00 in a well known store catologue. The other comps I do for free by posting in store or on the net. I enter competitions as a hobby and have done so for many years, it takes a lot of time and deadication but I would say I am a stay at home type of person. In the evening I sometimes sit with a pile of postcards and can enter quite a few in a couple of hours. Then post them the next day on the school run(childminder). I think you are very lucky theese days to win a big prize of a weeks holiday or a car. I have noticed the holidays now offered are often for 2 nights only, I don't enter theese as I don't think they are worth the trouble of planning time of work and often paying for own travel. Now it is time to spill your thoughts on competitions as I am always interested in fresh idea's! How do you find comping...
    Best Wishes and Good Luck...

I like you used to enter every competition going buy found I was spending more on the stamps than I got back in the prizes. I've been comping for about 2 years but my boyfriend has been comping all his life. I decided to start when I saw all the goodies he was getting. My boyfriend likes doing crosswords and puzzles and has won most of his prizes by doing them. I'm not much good at things like that :o so I stick to the easy ones.

Now I only do postal comps if it's something of high value or if it's something I really want. Otherwise I don't think it's worth it.

I saw a TV programme recently about a woman who makes a living from entering comps. For the life of me I can't see how you could do that. Even when I entered every comp going I couldnt have lived off the proceeds. I'd like to know how she won so much stuff.

    Anyone got any thoughts?

I've been doing online comps on here since I joined about a year ago, but just recently I've started getting a bit more serious (or addicted really:rotfl: ) about entering competitions.

The last few weeks I've been googling about comps and come up with loads of different sites, but did notice this one woman Lynne Suzanne (not sure if thats the same woman as you mean black-saturn) who has won loads, written books/articles and appeared on tv about how to win comps.

I've started entering the postcard comps, and also I'm attempting tie-breaker comps as well now, (although my efforts aren't probably that good, but I live in hope!)

But I am finding that I'm spending money on stamps and am wondering if I will get it back?
I'll see how I get on for about 6months I think, and if I don't get any return, I may just enter the online comps.

    I fear I am addicted now though!:rotfl:

One thing I did read that I keep thinking about is that the harder the comps are to enter, the greater the chance you have of winning.

I wondered if agreeing to recieve further e-mails and offers put you in a better stance to win!!?
