I updated to KIS 2011 a couple of months back and since then Ive had problems with pages freezing, not just the net but my word processor. Ctrl alt delete did zilcho and I had to restart - losing data a few times.
I then realised if I sit quietly and wait
about 30 seconds later everything goes back to normal.
After a while I sussed that this was happening when KIS 2011 was scanning or updating.
Does anyone know of a fix for this please (remembering Im a puter dumbo) .

Not sure about what to click etc. But go into the settings and change it to ONLY update at startup (Or a particular time of day your happy with) and switch off auto scan. Just scan manually whenever you wish to leave it running:idea:0

Also, make sure that you are running the latest version, currently 11.0.1.400.0

Many thanks both.0

It updates several times a day and is presumably still doing a useful job, but perhaps I should look into installing a later version. I see there's advice on the Kaspersky Lab Forum.".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0 -
I think they will stop supporting 2009 shortly.0

I think they will stop supporting 2009 shortly.
Technical support ceases tomorrow 1/09/2010, but all AV databases will continue to be updated, I found 2010 and 2011 caused slow downs on XP and am staying with 2009 for now on my desktop, though 2011 version works fine on my laptop with Vista.0
