They'd be stupid (and breaking money-laundering guidelines I think) to do so, as any money launderer - or person with a dodgy rubber cheque - could use them to turn paper into cash then scarper.

    Just what I thought, it sounds bloody irresponsible to me, even if you have been a customer for a while you could still be dodgy but from what the posts above said you could do it. Anyway I can't be arsed, I don't need the money within the next couple of days so I've just paid it into A&L.
