Work Bonus and Housing and council tax Benefit

I currently receive Housing and Council tax benefit, my husband works full time and we have children - it is quit a big bonus that he will be receiving (6647 before tax ut on top of his normal wage) - would this throw me out of housing and council benefit all together or do they recalculate it over a year from when you got it? or are we going to lose our claim and have to spread the bonus over a year and live on it? Any help (in terms that i will understand) will be very much appreciated! (i have done an online calculation putting the bonus as an annual wage on top of his normal wage i.e 28000) it still says i would be due some kind of payment, so how is this worked out?
Cheers!

28,000 and you think you will receive Housing Benefit and Council Tax benefit. Jeeez. How much is your rent? We have a combined income of 30,000 I know we are not entitled to HB or CB and nor should we be!0

I currently receive Housing and Council tax benefit ..... bonus
Bonus' count as earnings so must be taken into account. In short, the bonus is attributable to the period it covers. So, if the bonus is for a year, it is spread over the year it is in respect of. Some council's will spread this over the NEXT year but, in law, the bonus should be taken over the period it is actually in respect of. If the council takes the latter route, that may well result in an overpayment of HB/CTB which, subject to the correctness of the calculation(s), will be legally recoverable.0
