House insurance

Our daughter lives in a house we own. We insure the buildings, she insures the contents. Can we do a joint buildings/contents as it would be cheaper? Or is that a problem because they are not our contents?

Thanks for any info

  • Insurers will do a joint and yes it will save.

The only problem wil come in the event of a claim. you may need to follow the claim through if she (loses etc) needs to make one.

This will affect your rates the following year, but not by much.
Marry a Foreigner, its so much cheaper!
  • Speak to a broker some insurers might look at it but some may deem you as a landlord and your daughter as a tennant, best to get some appropriate advice.
