This is a vent more than anything else!
I am very into my fitness and was taking up to 12 classes a week, all with the same instructor. A few months ago she asked me to work for her then retracted it (its own thread!) which I accepted and carried on as normal, but since then she has been 'off' with me and questioning me about everything I have done, accusing me of wanting to destroy her business, none of which is true.
She is about to go away on holiday, and as she is so untrusting she chose to cancel all her classes rather than get a sub. I couldn't imagine going that long without classes so looked for an altrntive. I had a trial session Thursday and started properly on Saturday.
When I got back after the session on Sat there were comments all over Facebook about ther being a 'Traitor in the house' and later I got a nasty message asking me to explain myself, saying she was sick of my lies and I was no longer welcome in her classes. I know havent lied, nor did I ever sign an exclusivity contract! But actually I almost feel relieved that I no longer have to go to classes where I am ignored and given 'evils'!
I have now found out from other class members that she sent them all a message telling them she has banned me from class as I am a backstabbing liar!
I have looked on REPS website and believe I have grounds to complain about her as she has breached their code of conduct in more than one way, but don't think its worth the hassle. Another class member has been bombarding me with nasty messages which include things I had spoken to the instructor about in confidence.
What should I do? Apart from hold my head high and get on with the new classes (which are actually far more challenging and way better value for money.

You have vented now get on with your own life , the more you let this person think they are upsetting you the more they will do it... just ignore everything and stay away from places where you might see her or her nasty class members...#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

I didn't know fitness classes were like this."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Do nothing. I responded to your other thread, she is acting very unprofessionally but that is her problem and not yours.
You've found alternative classes so try to forget about her and block all the people concerned from your facebook.0 -
Dont use facebook is my advice.
These "social networking" sites seem to cause nothing but trouble.0 -
Haven't seen your other thread, i would stay away from her classes altogether, find a class where people are actually friendly, i have been around gyms all my life i can say i never found a female class with that kind of instructor, all the female step and aerobics instructors were really nice and loved all the members, the instructor has a chip on her shoulder and is plain old awful, start a new class and see how it goes. She should not be in this kind of work.
Use the "block" function on facebook and take them all off your friends list.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
100% agre with everyone. You may only make your situation worse if you are not careful. Block everyone you have had bad dealings with from your facebook and delete them then move on and try and forget it. Notch it up to it being a funny old world with some very strange people in it!House saving Targets:

Thanks everyone. Yes youre right. I have a new instructor who couldn't be more different and who, although he barely knows me, is already being extremely supportive. I think it wouldn't matter what I said or did, she had it in her head that I (and every other instructor on the island) was out to get her. I am still grateful for the time I spent in her classes and all I learnt from her. I am grateful for the way she inspire me, and am grateful to her for helping me to get my fitness to the level it is at present. Now I need to take it to the next level with someone new.0

Good for you, you have the right attitude. As I said in your other thread, I used to be an instructor and everyone was hugely supportive of each other. The instructors whose classes I attend these days are likewise and most work freelance, here, there and everywhere around the area. There is room for everyone but seems your lady has had something of a monopoly and feels threatened in some way.
So I'll say it again - it is her problem and not yours!0 -
What people are forgetting here is that if someone is unprofessional at a job they are hired to do, then OP needs to put in a complaint to the gym where this women works.
She can't be allowed to get away with treating people like this.
But, yes, still hold your head high and go elsewhere - but don't let her get away with it either.0 -

I would agree, except she has her own business are hires halls rather than working in a gym so the only place to report her would be to REPS but I don't know that its worth it really.0
