But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Right I have a to-do list on two sides of paper and you can bet your backside I wont do it all, but at least if I put it here then I can't pretend no one will notice so here it is (in no particular order)...
- Change the PIN numbers on the new bank cards
- [STRIKE]Update DFW diary[/STRIKE]
- Send back any competitions still lurking in the to-do file.
- Go to Boots, pick up free vitamins to tide over and sort out the extra advantage card points.

- Fill out and send back electoral roll form
- Phone Benfits Agency
- Hopefully book first holiday in far-too-long for next year (availability dependant) :j
- Fill out and send back the review form to the housing association to tell them where they can improve

- Get an opticians appointment for eye test only if free.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Happy Birthday Josie!!!:bdaycake:
I haven't achieved much this morning as I was fighting with the internet for an hour. Still no connection at home so I've come into work early to post!
Back at work after a week off and dreading the day, but I am looking forward to going out tonight for Jo's birthday meal. She has downloaded vouchers for a local restaurant. When we spoke yesterday there were 14 going and numbers were increasing by the hour
I don't have enough time for a proper post today, but I did complete two of my 101 things yesterday and have posted on the diary for those who keep track.
Have a good day everyone and I'll catch up later.Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -

Hello small thingers!
It's been a long time since I posted on here but I recognise some names -(Hi Rachel and good luck this week - you'll enjoy it but will be exhausting!)
Have really been doing the small things but not posting lists just to remind myself here goes....
:jhokey cokey done, one load on line and one in wm
:jschool uniforms all prepped ready for later this week, handed down where possible. Had to buy shoes and new trousers. Also new tie for biggest who will now be in the sixth form!
:jGoing to bank to get change for my many 'pots' ready for when it is needed
:jAt same time take (un)sealed pot and put in change machine at BS to pay straight into account.
:jMeals all planned for this week including hm puddings. Rhubarb crumble using rhubarb from garden, blackberry puree to go with hm yoghurt, hm ice cream (not really ms with all the cream and eggs!) and our house favourite, Bagpuss' steamed pudding yum.
:jEldest did first babysitting job last night - he is so pleased with himself for earning this 'easy money' ( he kept them amused on the PS3 - wonder how he'd cope with screaming babies?? ). I'm hoping he gets a taste for it and starts earning more to keep himself in the style to which he would like to become accustomed.
:jChecked online bank and moved odd pennies to savings
:jDecide with OH how much 'pocket money' he really needs - he's not really a big spender but likes to have a bit a cash in pocket.
Enough for now, be back later, have a good day everyone
Belle
