There is no Graham Woods. If this is Drive Time Hire Limited, whose registered office is in Ilford, then the directors are Mr Banglawala and Mr Patel.

Sarah, the people behind it have probably ripped off a real company's name. So Mr Woods, Mr Banglawala and Mr Patel probably have nothing to do with it (if they even exist). I had a friend make a booking and record the callback they received, the recording has been passed on to the police who hopefully will be able to do some CSI magic (vocal print matching etc) and help catch the people behind it. Plus, that 0871 number must be forwarding the voicemails and calls somewhere. They'll be able to track them down from that.

If anyone has got a few spare minutes you might want to fill in a bunch of bogus order requests.

Its the payment method that rings bells, even paypal would have been safer. I can understand how it may look that for their protection they were restricting payment method to something safe for them but not to take credit card payment when its so easy these days?

Sorry but I doubt the police will do anything much, even to the point the websites will remain up and trading indefinitely and your money is long gone abroad.

    lol, don't be so naive.....

They're probably illegals, which make's them completely untraceable.
Like the guys running the credit card scam at my local petrol station.

  • In my experience a car hire company normally insist on having the credit card details of any hirer before handing the car over to them.

Interesting.. I was wondering if they used 'false' number plates on their pictures (don't look doctored to me) but the Aston Martin DBS (reg. RK59 DPN) doesn't show up on the DVLA tax online vehicle check 'Vehicle details could not be found' but is recognised on the insurers database as insured. Non of the online reg checks recognise it but then why would it be insured? hmmm

Not heard of an 'ex-directory' car reg before! unless the said vehicle just isn't registered any more.. written off, exported ?

Edit - looking at some of the other vehicles, their reg's come up as the vehicles shown, be interesting for the police to get in touch with the owner(s) if it is the people behind the company.

Pics are probably taken whilst walking down the street, that what I would do if I was running this scam.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

No, more likely they've been downloaded from the web - many of the photogrpahs show the cars in off-street locations.
You would have to walk many miles on many steets to find all the cars they have listed, such as Bentleys.
