What on earth do you mean, Nargle? There's me trying to give our newbie, Hooby, a good impression of us and you're taking about "inane banter". We have intelligent, highbrow conversations on here....:D:D
We simply follow our (deranged) leaders example Spoon.
Yep, course we have intelligent conversation. Have i told u about my matchbox collection yet?
There seems to be some dissent in the ranks about the highbrow intelligent conversations we have on here:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and some of you seem to think I'm setting a bad example:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I would love to hear about your matchbox collection, Swanny.. how many, what's the oldest, and the most valuable:D:D
Thanks to everyone for the congrats on getting to my target, very pleased with myself this month, didn't think I was going to make it
And PS: thanks for the recipe, jinty, it looks scrummy:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Morning everyone
Feel like I haven't been on here forever, I have been sooooo busy organising DDs (6th) birthday and party, am exhausted and am sat in a room full of giant balloons and wrapping paper and crumbs (I can hardly see the carpet). Surprisingly, DD is laid on the sofa covered with a quilt and watching a birthday DVD as she is "exhausted", she said she had a good time but is glad everything is back to normal (she is such a drama queen, makes 3 of us!!!).
Anyway, since I've last been on I've clocked up a total of 11 NSDs!!! So have reached my target of 10 (never thought I would even make 10 so am very pleased.) I owe it all to the fantastic support on here and of course to Spoon. Thanks guys. x

Probably not 100% correct, but it is just over 28 years since I last had a German lesson - and 20 years since I last had to use the language for anything (spent a week with friends on a RAF base in Germany, so even then we mostly spoke English)

And the next question is 'How many matchboxes do you have in your collection?' in all these languages :rotfl:
Well done everyone on targets :T
I did manage number 13 on Thursday. Friday was a spendy day but was rather odd  I got ten pounds of electric but when I put it in the meter showed as having twenty eight pounds......now I know that I only had about two pounds left on it and I've checked the little paypoint receipt and it definitely only says ten pounds and only ten pounds has come off my debit card so at the moment I haven't got a clue what it's about  but I'm not complaining
Yesterday I managed number 14 and am looking at 15 today but will check in when I'm safely home and in pjs. Will have to have an early night tonight as I'm shattered
See you all later

Probably more correct than my original, Cheryl, it doesn't look right to me at all.... but it is around 10 years since I spoke any German:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

:hello:
Morning all intellectual and highbrow NSD peeps
(is that good enough for first impressions Spoon?)
That's perfect Kathy xAnd the next question is 'How many matchboxes do you have in your collection?' in all these languages :rotfl:
:hello:
I can manage that one in French: "combien de boites d'allumettes avez-vous dans votre collection?" - that's the literal matchbox, or
"combien d'autos minatures avez-vous dans votre collection?" - that's toy cars, although some matchbox collectors would dispute that they are toy cars:D:D
Right, my brain is totally addled now, off to read something intellectual and highbrow:D:DThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
